Codification:
"Codification is the process of compiling rules and laws into an orderly, formal system, or code." - Cornell Law School
Hello Champions, and welcome to another Codification article on the Community Balance Pass. Today we’re announcing the codification of two champions, and putting four more up for codification feedback.
First up, thanks to community playtesting, feedback, and voting, we are pleased to announce that Lily and Nia are now codified!
As we mentioned previously (https://www.objectivehex.com/post/codifying-champions-lily-and-nia) we felt like these two champions and their followers are in a good place to lock in as community balance pass updates, and community voting agreed!
Now, it’s time to look at the Guardians.
First up we have Halftusk. With adjustments to Fighting Fit, Feint, and Froglodytes, we have improved his damage output, durability, and mobility while leaving his identity as a heal tank intact. He should still feel lethal into high dodge champions, but no longer should the Froglodyte Clash phase activation feel like a pass.

Next up is Jaak. Our first adjustments, to Deploy Cauldron, Battlefield Brew, and his health all went over well, but he was still outperforming other Guardians. So we nerfed the Cauldron Cronies a bit. Now he should require a bit more skill to pilot effectively, and be easier to counterplay as a result.

Which brings us to Durthax. Durthax has had 2 relatively small adjustments made to their kit in Wellspring and Twisting Grove. While this has been well received by the community that asked for the changes, we haven’t had as much feedback on Durthax as we’d like. They should feel more fair now, so please test them in a game or two if you can.

Finally we have Helena. Her changes have given her more to do, while still allowing her to just stand there and win points. Minor buffs to her point scoring, damage dice, and peasant range have all resulted in a more capable and dynamic champion than before. She should feel less passive now, while still partnering excellently with Fenra.

As usual, we’ll take community feedback through these forms for a week or two, then see if we made any egregious errors and codify them or not.
Next time we’re looking at codifying Grimgut v2 and Kailinn v2. Please play games with these champions and use the Community Balance Pass Status Log to fill out feedback forms on how they play. As stated earlier, the more feedback we get, the better our work on this project will be.
Looking forward to seeing your feedback on these codifications!
Wooloolool,
The Council of Eldritch Judgement
