Codification:
"Codification is the process of compiling rules and laws into an orderly, formal system, or code." - Cornell Law School
Hello Champions, and welcome to another codification article on the Community Balance Pass. Today we’re announcing the codification of two champions, and putting two more up for codification feedback.
First up, thanks to community playtesting, feedback, and voting, we are pleased to announce that Morrigan and Rattlebone are now codified!
As we mentioned previously we felt like these two champions and their followers are in a good place to lock in as community balance pass updates, and community voting agreed!
However, community engagement has been tapering off as we strive for the finish line on this project. Our goal is to have at least 10 games of feedback from the community on each champion and that target has been getting further and further from our reach as the project has kept going. We know that it’s been months and that progress has been slow, but the more feedback we get, the faster we can turnaround our balance updates and speed towards the finish.
On that note, please, please fill out your thoughts on the following two champions:
Lily has literally lost a step in the plot phase, and her Thornlings aren’t as spiky with their dice when they crit. But she’s still got it where and when it counts. Overall, she feels more difficult to play with and less oppressive to play against.
To vote on whether her v1 version should be codified as the Community Balance Pass version, click on this link to the form and fill it out.
Nia has also seen good feedback. Her Crystal abilities having range 3 and her ultimate allowing for multiple recruits have been called out as excellent changes. Her access to a dodge blight has also increased her impact. She’s not going to seize the top shaper spot in many SFG4 lists any time soon, but she should be a much more appealing pick in LPD and feel more fun to play.
To vote on whether her v1 version should be codified as the Community Balance Pass version, click on this link to the form and fill it out.
As usual, we’ll take community feedback through these forms for a week or two, then see if we made any egregious errors and codify them or not.
Next time we’re looking at codifying Durthax, Helena, Jaak v2, and Halftusk v2. Please play games with these champions and use the Community Balance Pass Status Log to fill out feedback forms on how they play. As stated earlier, the more feedback we get, the better our work on this project will be.
Looking forward to seeing your feedback on these codifications!
Wooloolool,
The Council of Eldritch Judgement
